To achieve these aims, the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform enables service providers to deploy a range of applications over NGN IP and traditional TDM networks with a full suite of network operations and business support modules and interfaces.

The DIGITALK Multiservice Platform offers a highly scalable, high performance, high availability service platform, operating from a small footprint solution to a large scale multi-node deployment. Full hardware redundancy is built into the solution design from power supplies and network interfaces up to service component redundancy and load balancing to provide the basis for carrier grade service reliability. The key elements of the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform are:

• Media Application Server: An all IP service execution environment that can be deployed as a standalone service platform or integrated with an operator’s existing NGN or IMS environment. The Media Application Server is supported by the DIGITALK SIP Proxy for user agent registration and session load balancing.



• Intelligent Switch: A hybrid TDM / IP service execution environment that can be deployed standalone or integrated within an operator’s existing PSTN and / or NGN environment.



• Service Creation: In addition to DIGITALK’s range of service-ready applications, Service Providers can exploit the extreme flexibility of the STUDIO service creation environment to create and adapt.



• Operations Support: The DIGITALK MSP includes full network and service provisioning and monitoring facilities, including least cost carrier routing, to enable Service Providers to configure applications for immediate service rollout.



• Business Support: The DIGITALK MSP additionally offers real-time retail and wholesale service rating for both prepaid and post-paid services supported by tariff management, balance management, on-line payments and business reporting.

The DIGITALK Multiservice Platform is deployed as a complete hardware and software solution with the infrastructure necessary to enable immediate service rollout. In addition to the core Media Application Server or Intelligent Switch service execution environments described above, DIGITALK solution deployments include some or all of the following components:

• Data Server: Fully redundant, high performance data servers are used to support all active data requirements of the Multiservice Platform. DIGITALK has extensive experience of designing and deploying large scale Data Server solutions for customers.



• Web Server: The DIGITALK Web Server supports web-based network, service and customer care applications.



• Payments Server: The DIGITALK Payments Server supports integration with on-line e-commerce services, including Paypoint, Retail Decisions and Servebase.



• Replication Server: The DIGITALK Replication Server provides an off-line store of operations and business data as a basis for data archiving and reporting, whether using DIGITALK Reports or third party reporting applications.
